It's true. After nearly two decades, my faithful artboard/desk has gone to that great dumpster in the sky. I was attempting to work on a commission when I noticed the left side of the desk began sliding down. At first I thought it was my imagination, as slow as it happened. Finally, it full on listed to one side, like a boat capsizing. Upon investigation, I saw the plastic connector pieces had stress cracks in them (most likely due to being disassembled and reassembled for the recent move) and the metal parts (nuts and bolts) had rusted away to the point of being not much use. At least I got to keep the lamp, since that attaches to the board on its own.
As it stands, the Invisible Girl in bondage drawing I did recently was the last picture successfully drawn on the ol' artboard.
Not all hope is lost though! I'll be getting a new one soon! And this one will be a bit smaller and more suited to my needs. (I mean, who needs a 40" board when you work on 11"x17" sheets?) Anyway, I hope to be back up and running sooner as opposed to later. It was just a sad day to see my board give up the ghost.
